This sender unit is used to monitor the water temperature to control the D-Jet Fuel injection system and has two pin plug and is situated in the manifold of the engine. 
Do not confuse it with the single pole temperature sensor for the guage and the Auxiliary Cooling fans.
 
Temperature sensor cracked or leaking.
 
Perhaps it’s not working at all.
